Experience shows that individuals who have a thorough understanding of the job search process in today’s job market secure employment more effectively than those who do not. Therefore, we developed this workshop to provide career seekers key information regarding a successful job search process.
The workshop is organized to offer job seekers a framework for understanding what jobs are available and will provide a practical walk through the job search and application process.
A quick internet search will result in dozens of articles from leading minds on why we should be teaching kids entrepreneurial skills from a young age. Many believe that entrepreneurship is the best preparation for an unpredictable economy.
Our goal is to teach entrepreneurship in a way that changes mindsets and instills a set of skills that can be applied to any career. And with economists predicting that the jobs of tomorrow don’t even exist today, entrepreneurial skills are life skills!
The wave of future economic prosperity lies in a workforce that is well-versed in rising job markets like science, technology, engineering and math. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!
Course Duration: 9 weeks
Teenage years are a critical time when young men make choices that affect the rest of their lives. Boys to Mentoring offers young men a safe place where they can talk about what is really going on in their lives, as well as a community of mentors and peers who listen, believe in them and help them make better choices.
In partnership with schools, we focus on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, and research-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families.
Most people attribute a large portion of their success in life to having someone who helped guide them along the way. It is believed that having a positive role model such as a mentor helps in developing interpersonal skills, increasing self-confidence, community involvement, and teaches valuable skills such as goal-setting and decision-making which improve academic and career performance.
